"We have a 3D imager....,” Sanders said. “It does 1 millimeter slices through the specimen, so I can go up and down, left and right through that specimen, and I have a much more accurate assessment of, 'Am I close in one spot? Can I get more right then and try to avoid having to come back?’
The KUBTEC 3D Specimen Radiography System is an imager that uses the same technology used in tomosynthesis, which are 3D mammograms. The ability to remove more tissue, if needed, while the patient is still on the operating table results in better patient outcomes.
