The Connecticut Technology Council (CTC) and Marcum LLP announced the winners of the 2020 Marcum Tech Top 40, the 13th annual awards program from CTC and Marcum recognizing the fastest growing technology companies in Connecticut.

KUBTEC is the only business in the world to have developed advanced breast cancer 3D imaging technology that could reduce the chances a patient will need a second surgery. Vikram Butani is on a mission to help people who get breast cancer get rid of it in a single surgery. He's the CEO of KUBTEC, a medical imaging company based in Stratford.

According to a recently published clinical study, "Differences in Re-excision Rates for Breast-Conserving Surgery Using Intraoperative 2D Versus 3D Tomosynthesis Specimen Radiograph," 3D Tomosynthesis is associated with a 50% reduction in re‑excision rates and furthermore, the use of The MOZART 3D imaging specimen system can decrease the amount of additional tissue excised unnecessarily.

Fairchild received a donation of supplies from KUBTEC Medical Imaging of Stratford.

Colquitt Regional recently acquired a specimen radiography system that will allow for on-the-spot inspection of biopsied breast and core tissue. The Kubtec XPERT® 40, also known as “Kubbie,” is a mobile, self-contained, shielded cabinet X-ray system.

Earlier this week, KUBTEC’s Chief Technology Officer, Chester Lowe, had an opportunity to visit the Tulane University Pathology Assistant program to present on specimen radiography and gave the PA students a chance to demo the KUBTEC XPERT 80 System.
