Kubtec, in partnership with the Greater Connecticut Youth Orchestras (GCTYO), announced today that the first recipients of the KUBTEC Bob & Dorothy Genualdi Scholarships were awarded to four young dedicated and talented individuals. were known throughout the Fairfield County, CT community for, among other things, their generosity in providing music lessons to aspiring young musicians regardless of their families’ ability to pay. The scholarship was set up in memory of the honorable duo, particularly near and dear to the heart of Kubtec CEO, Vikram Butani, who had the following comment:

“Bob and Dorothy loved music and had a huge impact on the lives of a lot of children. We wanted to make sure we built upon that legacy—especially now that we have moved our offices to Fairfield County and want to get as involved with the community as we can.” Butani added, “their hearts were always in the right place and this is just a small way to pay tribute to all the good things that they did for so many people.”

A description of the mission and vision of GCTYO can be found on the organization’s website, stating, “Young people achieve amazing things at GCTYO. They develop their talents beyond what they thought possible and feel pride and joy in their accomplishments. The study of great music in an ensemble setting can be a transformative experience for young musicians, and GCTYO’s mission is to provide that experience in a challenging, fun and nurturing environment.”
