Listen to KVMR’s ‘Best of Health” radio interview with Dr. Michael Alvarado, Director of the Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship program at UC San Francisco. Dr. Alvarado talks about the latest surgical techniques and technology for lumpectomy procedures in breast cancer patients.

"When we invested in our 3D or tomosynthesis imaging machine, the Kubtec Mozart we discussed it with the hospital and said well look we have a lot of patients that are just diagnosed that need to have surgery and if we are doing a number of second surgeries, then the waiting list is going to increase and the time to get the first surgery done for the next patient might increase because we’re having to do these second surgeries, so there is a cost in that sense of not being able to get newer patients into the OR in a timely fashion"
